Michal Cekovsky Is A Prospect Who Could Fill Lousville’s 2014-15 Roster

As Louisville’s 2013-14 season ended Friday night in an epic battle against Kentucky the questions now turn to next season. It was announced Saturday afternoon that Kevin Ware will be transferring, which leaves another scholarship open for the 2014-15 roster. It will be a completely different team for Pitino and the Cards as they head to the ACC.

Many people expected Temple transfer Anthony Lee to be a strong possibility, but he has committed to play for Ohio State after a visit Saturday. Was expected to visit Louisville within the next couple of days.

Louisville is losing seniors Russ Smith, Luke Hancock, Tim Henderson and Stephen Van Treese. Chane Behanan was kicked off the team in late December. That is a lot of experience to fill.

Pitino does have some talented freshman with a lot of size coming in. Take a look at the 2014 Class HERE.

So who else could be added to the roster? A 7-foot power forward by the name of Michal Cekovsky. Some Louisville fans may remember his name, his name emerged as a possibility after his teammate Matz Stockman from Canarias Basketball Academy committed to Louisville.

According to 247Sports.com, Louisville is a front runner for the Slovakian. He also has offers from Arizona, Maryland, Oregon, Florida and some other D-I schools. He is considered the 14th-best center in the 2014 class by ESPN and the 35th-best PF by 247Sports.com.

ESPN.com says of the 7″, 225 lbs. Cekovsky:

He has a very intriguing combination of size and skill. He’s a seven-footer with a solid build but skilled enough to play from anywhere between the low block and the arc. He knows how to post and play with his back to the basket.
