As the Kentucky Wildcats play Georgia Saturday in the SEC tournament it does not take a Kentucky fan long to think about the game that took place six years ago to the day. Kentucky came in with confidence that they would blow Georgia out and advance to the next opponent, after all Georgia had nine scholarship players and were ranked last in the SEC. Georgia came in after upsetting Ole Miss the days before.

Georgia not only beat Kentucky, but then went on to win the entire SEC Tournament.

The Kentucky vs. Georgia game was supposed to have played Friday night (March 14th), but because of tornado damage to the Georgia Dome. The game was moved to Alexander Memorial Coliseum, the winner would play in the semi-finals game 6pm the 15th.

Kentucky and Georgia played close all game and then went into overtime. Georgia’s backup guard Zac Swansey came into the game and scored five points in OT, including the game winning three with 1.2 seconds left. Raining on Kentucky’s parade.
