According to Evan Daniels, Indiana assistant coach Kenny Johnson has officially accepted Louisville’s open assistant position. Johnson interviewed for the position over the weekend. He had interest from Maryland, where he went to college, for their vacant assistant job.
Johnson is taking over for Kevin Keatts who left for a head coaching position after this past season.
Pitino is getting one of the best recruiters in the country. According to Jody Demling, Johnson will be hitting the trail this weekend for the Cardinals.
Johnson came to Indiana in 2012, before then he was an assistant at Townson. Before then he was an assistant at the high school level.
Maryland is also looking at Johnson as an option. He graduated from Maryland in 1999 where he studied cell, molecular biology and genetics.
