Dakari Johnson is returning to the Kentucky Wildcats for his sophomore year according to a press release. The 7-foot Johnson is the second Wildcat to announce his return Wednesday, Alex Poythress announced his return for his junior season in the morning.
With three 7-footers and some other big men Kentucky will have no issues with depth in their front court.
Johnson traded starts with Willie Cauley-Stein last season, averaging 5.2 points and 3.9 rebounds while playing 14.1 minutes per game. He showed a lot of his hustle and fight underneath which helped him get playing time in conference play.
In his statement he said, “Big Blue Nation, I can’t thank you enough for your support, and I look forward to representing UK next year.” He ended it with #StriveFor9.
Now the question is what will the Harrison Twins do. They have gotten some feedback from scouts that they should stay in school.
