Tuesday night in Rupp Arena is going to be a emotional game as Senior Night is here. Kentucky will honor seniors Jarrod Polson and Jon Hood for their services in Lexington on and off the court.

Starting with Jarrod Polson who is a four-year point guard from Wilmore, KY and attended West Jessamine High. He lead his school to the Boys Sweet 16 before bailing out in the 2nd round. Remains the schools all-time leading scorer with 1,884 points and was named 1st Team All-State his senior year.

While at Kentucky, Polson has been to 2 Final Four’s and won a National Championship in 2012. This season and last he has been a big contributor off the bench for UK as his leadership skills were much needed being one of few true veterans. Polson’s career high of 11 points came against rival Tennessee last year.

Kentucky’s other senior comes in “lake hair” Jon Hood who is in his fifth-year after receiving a medical red-shirt. Played high school ball at North Hopkins, from Madisonville, KY where he was named the state Mr. basketball and Gatorade Player of the Year award in 2009. Averaged 29.4 points, 12.1 rebounds and 3.1 blocked shots on the way to being ranked as the 40th best recruit by Rivals.com.

During he time in Lexington, Hood will have played with over twenty NBA guys. He has also seen it all the way from the dark days of Billy Clyde to the 2012 National title. He has been one of the guys all the newcomers UK has had over the years go to, like their role model. His career high was seven points versus Coppin State.

I want to personally thank both Jarrod Polson and Jon Hood. Both guys are true blue Kentuckians who have represented the blue&white with nothing but class. They are two young men who could have left or chose elsewhere but decided to play for their favorite team, the Wildcats.

Here are highlight clips of both seniors over their careers who WILL start tonight against Alabama.
