Welcome to WXVW – 1450 & 96.1 The Big X radio show.

The radio station formerly known as “The Sports Buzz” has a new name, and another signal.

WXVW, now “The Big X,” can be heard on 96.1 FM as well as 1450 AM. The station formerly was called “The Sports Buzz,” but an old photograph had owner Dugan Ryan thinking it was time for a change.

A typical day on WXVW begins with ESPN’s Mike & Mike at 6 a.m. and is followed by CBS Sports Radio at 10 a.m.

The next show, at 11 a.m. — The Hoosier Report with Matt Denison — completed its first year on the air last October. Every weekday at 11 a.m., Denison talks Indiana University and Southern Indiana high school sports.

After The Hoosier Report, Jim Rome’s national show airs, followed by a re-air of Denison’s program at 3 p.m. More local programming follows at 4 p.m., then a game — whether it be Indiana, the Colts, Western Kentucky athletics, the Pacers or high school sports — is the nightcap.

The new FM signal means the national and niche coverage can reach more listeners. With the AM signal, listeners in Floyds Knobs or Charlestown may have had issues at night. The new signal stretches from Sheperdsville, Ky. in the south to between Sellersburg and Scottsburg in the north. In the east, La Grange, Ky. is the approximate boundary and the signal stretches to Corydon in the west.

WXVW is home of the best national sports talk: Jim Rome (noon-3).
We are the home of the Indiana Hoosiers, Purdue, WKU and High School sports in Kentuckiana.
